Outdoor markets are NOT necessarily safer than visiting a local grocery and everyone should assess their personal situation and responsibilities for their particular family and behave and act accordingly. If we can locate an affordable location and put together a late starting 2021 market safely, we will.

WEATHER ADVISORY CANCELLATION

We have been carefully watching the local weather forecast for Saturday. They have now posted a High Wind Advisory for 8 AM and 3 PM, with gusts upwards of 40 MPH predicted.

For the safety of vendors and customers, We feel it is is necessary to cancel the GSM for the 29th of August.

We have a unique situation in the Kmart parking lot. We have full and unprotected exposure to Westerly and Southwesterly winds. There are no structures or large trees to help mitigate strong winds. We did a cancellation once during October in 2014 and other markets around Portland had tents go airborne with resulting damage. Our preference is to err on the side of caution - for safety and liability reasons. We hope you all understand and we look forward to seeing you on September 5th.
